The Emerson is a thriving arts and community center located a block from historic downtown Bozeman. The building was originally an elementary school built in 1918, attended by thousands of Bozeman youth before its closure in 1991. With the building facing demolition in 1992, a grassroots coalition of community members dedicated to historic preservation and celebration of the arts formed a non-profit board, raised funds, and bought the building from the City of Bozeman.

2019 Oscar Nominated Short Films
For the 11th consecutive year, BFS presents the Oscar-Nominated Short Films, brought to you by Shorts HD and Magnolia Pictures. An annual BFS tradition, all three categories are offered this year – Documentary, Animation, and Live Action, in that order. Ballots will be handed out with prizes for predicting the winners!
The Documentary and Live-Action programs are for mature audiences, while most of the Animation shorts are rated PG-PG13, with a few containing mature content. Final ratings and lengths are announced on January 22nd. The Academy Awards take place Sunday, Feb. 24th.

Tickets: Adults $10/Single Program or $20/All Day Pass; Youth age 16 & under $5/Single Program or $10/All Day Pass. Seating is General Admission.
